Know which process applies
California foreclosure procedures depend on the loan and circumstances. The nonjudicial process involves notices and a trustee sale, but a general article cannot establish the exact deadline in your case. Read your own documents and seek qualified advice.
Keep a complete record
Save mortgage statements, notices, correspondence, and proof of submitted assistance applications. Record the dates and names from calls. Ask the servicer or trustee for clarification through verified contact information.
Ask about available assistance early
Contact the servicer to discuss hardship and assistance options. A housing counselor can help organize that discussion. If a notice or auction date is approaching, an attorney can assess legal deadlines and possible protections.
Verify any postponement
Do not assume that a pending application, a buyer’s offer, or a signed purchase contract stops the process. Obtain reliable confirmation of changes to a scheduled sale and keep following the requirements given by your advisers.
Evaluate a possible property sale separately
Selling may be an option before ownership changes, but it requires sufficient authority, time, title clearance, and a workable financial outcome. Bay Cash Homes can discuss a purchase; it does not provide foreclosure legal representation.
